Meet us
The Grow Movement Founders

How it all began.

At the beginning of 2025, we - Tati, Maddy & Lore - each felt the need for a change of scenery. We didn’t know each other yet, but without any knowledge of one another, we made the same decision: to leave Europe and America for a few months and live in Costa Rica.

What started as a personal adventure soon turned into something bigger. Being there shifted our perspective; the rhythm of life, the space to breathe, the connection with ourselves. And then, almost by chance, we met. Conversations flowed, ideas grew, and a shared dream began to take shape.

And that’s how The Grow Family started.

Tati

The daughter of a Polish-German couple, Tati was raised in Germany with a strong focus on following a conventional and stable life path. Being diagnosed at birth with a chronic genetic illness, Brittle Bone Disease, a genetic condition she shares with her father which causes bones to break easily, she was raised to play it safe physically too.

Never questioning if that was the right path for her and in many ways disconnected from her intuition, she pursued various corporate roles and built her career in pursuit of this “safe existence”. It was many years down this road and in the middle of a break-up that she found herself signing up for a personal growth retreat in Sweden that completely shifted her outlook in the best way possible.

In the years that followed, Tati began to discover her inner power and confidence through mindfulness, breathwork, and making a habit of stepping out of her comfort zone. Today she works as a coach and breathwork facilitator providing a safe space for participants to feel deep emotions and helping individuals get in touch with their inner child.

Lore and Maddy both attended her classes in Santa Teresa and can attest they are an amazing session to anchor into one’s body and access deep emotions.

Maddy

Originally from Southern California, Maddy has practised yoga and mindfulness for many years. Professionally she worked as a corporate finance professional in San Francisco for nearly a decade. Seeking a respite from often long workdays which left her disconnected from her body, she decided to complete her 200-hour yoga teacher training offered by The Nomadic Yogi in Costa Rica, a personal bucket list item.

After the course, she’d officially earned her teaching diploma, but she realized the inner transformation she experienced was far greater than she would have imagined. Afterwards, she lived in Santa Teresa another 6 months and she began teaching yoga at various hostels. Now back in California, she continued to offer classes with a focus on slowing down, breathing, and connecting to one’s body.

Yoga and meditation, through the guidance of various instructors and mentors over 15+ years of practice, help her find a sense of inner calm even in a hectic world. She’s happiest as a yoga instructor when she sees students both making progress in their asana practices and leaving a class more tranquil than when they arrived.

Lore

Lore grew up in Belgium in a family of four where there was one primary belief: security is the basis of happiness. A degree, a partner, a house, a good job in a large company. She ticked all the boxes. But she had a nagging feeling. Was this it?

Then she met a narcissistic partner. She didn’t understand the world anymore. She could be angry with him and his narcissistic behaviors, but she knew she also had to acknowledge why she had ignored her gut feeling for so long

After several years of feeling disconnected from her true self, she knew: this is not it. She needed contrast and a space to breathe. And so she left, alone, for three months to Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. There she met like-minded souls, as Maddy & Tati.

In Santa Teresa, she realised she wanted to become an intuition and narcissism coach. Fast-forwarding a few months and numerous training courses later, she is starting her own coaching practice in Belgium.

Lore is a hostess at heart. Making people happy with food runs in her blood. As a freelance project manager for food and hospitality projects, she had the opportunity to work with renowned chefs and organized catering for Tomorrowland in both France and Belgium.

During this retreat, she combines her two passions: sharing her love for fresh and delicious food and being valuable to others by listening and asking the right questions.

The only thing you can control is yourself. You can’t change others or the circumstances, but you can control how you respond to the situation, to life.
